+ News Detail
Although this story has been talked about/known since the early 2000s, AOS will be documenting this soon for you all as it has come up again. Long story short...a LOT of the "early 90s" Powell slicks you see around in mint condition are actually 1990s slicks on early 2000 decks. They were put out by Karl Gao who used to head up the Chineese distribution for Powell (but not after 1991 or so). Much like the other fake slicks we see (Plan B Way "Leprachaun" for example), Karl had piles off unuses slicks he put onto early 2000 popsicles and sold. Were they "official" Powell decks? No. Are they real Powell slicks? Yes. Soooo....more coming soon!
