Fund a skatepark? Here is how!(source AoS / reported by AMORONE)
2/19/2003 - Wednesday

From Jesse at Conscience....

The idea of Conscience originated in Milwaukee, WI in an effort of
accomplishing something positive for the skateboarding community. Alike
many other cities in the United States with increasing trends in city
ordinances outlawing skateboarding, there have been fewer and fewer
places for the local skateboarders to skate without being hassled by law
enforcement. This in mind, something has to be done to keep the
skateboard scene alive. Conscience has been inspired by this very need
and has been working with both the city of Delafield and Brookfield in
both designing and fundraising to ensure that there are soon a couple of
solid public skateparks available for the local skateboarders to enjoy.

Although many businesses today don't look to their Conscience as a
resource for money-making ideas, we can proudly say that we have. In
doing so, we have started our own skateboard label as a tool to
fundraise for the two parks that we are currently working on, and we
anticipate doing the same thing for neighboring cities wishing to
provide their community with a skatepark as well. Deck proceeds will be
donated directly to the parks that we are currently working on. Sure,
you can purchase a quality deck from one of the numerous other
skateboard companies out there, but which one of those companies will
actually be assisting in giving you a free skatepark in return? Envision
a land with many more quality skateparks and being able to credit
yourself for it having had shown your support by riding a skateboard
deck that is in business for one and only one thing. Skateboarding

Thanks for your support----Conscience.
