Due to the almighty dollar, many big name skate companies it seems have been shifting their production of decks over to China in order to squeeze out those few extra dollars profit on their bottom line. Althought cheaper in labor costs, many now argue that the end product is of noticablly lower quality as well. It does not take much to see the reasoning there....cheaper labor + cheaper quality = decks that wear out/break quickly = more sales = more profit. Thankfully, good, ethical folks like Jim Gray (much respect!) of Acme/ABC, Beer City, Conscience Skateboards and several more are stepping up to make consumers aware of what is really going on in the industry. Hats off to those fighting the good fight!
