Every now and then, I will got some email about some odd relic of skateboarding history with, of course, the obligatory question of what value should be place on it. Here's one I got this weekend from Peggy Turner...."I am in possession of the yellow bandana with red paint splattered on it to look like blood, taken straight off his own head and given to my older sister as a souvenir by Tony in 77 or 78 at the Kona U.S. Pro-Am Open, Tony advised her that this was the head band he used in his new Alva advertisement in skateboarder magazine (as seen in the movie dogtown and z-boys). It was sweaty and gross and she asked if I wanted it. Being a little 15 year old skate rat and idolizing Alva, I snatched it up and hid it right away. I have kept this in my treasure chest for nearly 30 years. What do you think this might be worth?" If you have any idea on the value of this or interest in purchasing it, please email me here, and I will pass it along. Sounds like a good item for Todd's(@Skatelab) museum eh?
