Recently, one of Faith Skate Supply's (my local Birmingham skateshop) team riders was involved in a major skateboarding accident. While out filming for the new video "REASON TO BELIEVE" over in Atlanta, Justin "GECKO" Holmes was trying a handrail....bailed....kicked his board out and was landing out when the board hit the wall next to the rail, bounced back and hit Justin right in the temple. Justin has spent almost 2 weeks in the ICU at Atlanta Medical Center and now has finally gotten into a normal hospital room. He has suffered from severe brain bruising and swelling of his brain. Of course like most skateboarders, insurance was the last thing on his mind. Justin and his family are now racking up incredible hospital bills. We at Art of Skateboarding are helping Faith Skate Supply as they are setting up benefits and fund raisers to help Justin and his family out.
