Another old/dead company back again...many know the story...Shut Skateboards became Zoo York over time in a manner of speaking. Well, it seems Shut is coming back again on it's own. Switchmagazine.com reports "Most of you young whipper snappers out there probably don't remember anything before Zoo York. While back, though, Rodney Smith also ran a young urban company named Shut. Formed in 1986 by Smith and Bruno Musso, Shut embraced the New York flavor. That was then and this is now. Shut is back. Rodney Smith stepped down at Zoo York after it was acquired by Echo UNLTD. He wants the control he lost in that acquisition back. So now, Shut is open for business. Along with Adam Schatz, Eli Gesner and Greg Chapman, Smith plans on offering a full line of wheels, clothing and boards, including some classic models and shapes. So far, it looks as if Shut has some Ol' Skoolers on board, by the likes of Jeremy Henderson, Barker Barrett, Felix Arguelles and Jeff Pang." The first line of *new* Shut decks are now showing up on AWH (www.awhsales.com) and have some pretty interesting shapes and graphics. Will collectors/skaters embrace a Shut Skates comeback? We will see....
