ShackleMeNot: After lunch, we did a
little bit of souveniering and then headed out to the park, where
we met up with Seth (letsgoskatepool), and the Five Points crew. Seth
brought an absolutely ridiculous amount of boards for the time he
was gonna spend skating, but hey, if you need that many, go for it.

LetsGoSkatePool: After being stood up
at the airport (don't worry wasn't an issue), I took a cab to the
skatepark. Right off, I met a bunch of people like EM Dash. After
some skating and bullshitting, more people showed, including some
locals with amazing vintage quivers. Jeff arrived with the jeep and
the rest of the drunks at around 2. I trade a NOS sacred heart for
30 NM skateboarder magazines from the 70s. Cool. I take the jeep for
an oil change and got lost cause I tried to follow directions to a
cheaper place. Turns out I was out of coolant (and after further inspection,
I have found that the radiator has a leak). By the time I got back,
lush had arrived but quickly left to go back home. We didn't see him
till dinner. I did some frontside grinds on Green Monkey's "clown
board" in the bowl with pool coping. I started talking to this
cool skater girl (who happens to be Chris' daughter), but I laid off
when I found out she was only 14 (She does need to loosen her trucks
though.) |
ShackleMeNot: Tim and T2 were ripping
up the Jackson and falling in love with the "I eat babies"
girl/boy. I'm still not quite sure which gender that kid belonged
to. After warming up for a little while, Seth made me slash the coping
on the mid-depth portion of the bowl. After getting it, i did it nosegrab
with a little slap on the coping with my other hand, since I like
to think at times that I'm various members of the H-street team. I
honestly don't remember all of the events that happened while skating,
I was a bit hungover, but just bear with me. Ronnie Cassel was there,
former Madrid pro. He was ripping both bowls on a 12" skaterbuilt,
nice backside airs over hips, standup 50-50's on the over vert clamshell.
It was fucking sick to see a 50 year old skating like he was 18. I
remember having a little Bertleman session on the banks with seth,
and then 15 other kids started snaking our lines and tricks, so I
did what any other cocky as hell kid would do. I started doing tricks
that I knew nobody else would do. Kickflip underflips to fakie, Big
spin impossibles, and the like. I think I may have a serious problem.
There was some little pudgy kid there riding on an old Variflex or
Valterra Coca-Cola Max Headroom board. Everyone told him that it was
worth money, and he still skated it like it was a piece of crap. |
Zodaic13: The Nashville park is nuts.
The flow bowl is so fun. Tim 5 Points getting frontside grinds in
the oververt capsule! ex-Madrid Pro Rodney Cassel was there, KILLING
it. Huge backside ollies, backside airs, 50-50's in the oververt.
Shackle's Andrechts and rodeo flips. Hot shit for sure. More folks
made it out. Letsgoskatepool, Plywood 20, EM Dash, Playgod, Lush and
his dry-cleaning, The guy from XXX Sports (I'm so sorry I forgot your
name, bro.), Darin Masters from Planet skate, T2, Robohio, Tennessee
legend, Eric Martin. My cousin Patrick. God, I know I'm forgetting
people & I feel terrible about it. SORRY! |
ShackleMeNot: Those stoner Alva Looking
kids RIPPED!!!! |
AlvaCollector: The Alva brothers will
now be referred to as T n A since they both looked like TA and I can't
remember their names right now. |
Seth-grinding the 8' section (pool coping for those of you not
there and can't tell) and NO DOUBT on some 38" hammerhead
or some shit! One bad ass kid! |
ShackleMeNot with a one footed backside 5-0 grind (SICK!) in
