Hitting the town of Columbus, Ohio |

After the video, it was fairly late, and we had plans to be up early to head out for the real AoS-fest 3 day of skating. Jay, Mike and I told everyone bye and thanked Rob over and over for his hospitality in putting together this shindig. With that, we were out he door, shortly, back to our hotel.
Keep in mind, we’re talking Mike, Jay and I….three single guys in a new city. For us, the night was young! Besides, what’s an AoS-fest without finding a bar on the first night out? We ventured out on foot to find some entertainment for the rest of the night. The Ohio guys had directed us where to go near the hotel for bars, lounges, etc. so we were on our way. For some reason, Tim kept insisting we check out a place called the “Eagle”, but considering his grin, we thought it best not too. We actually did inadvertently walk by it on the way getting lost to find the “Arena District”. Although young Mike had no clue what the place was, Jay was quick to point out that their seemed to be a lot of guys embracing one another outside the place. So uhm, yeh, you get the idea (still lost, Mike? Haha). So anyways, we soon found our way to the Arena District. I say “soon” but it was a pretty good walk...7 or 10 blocks from the hotel. We also lucked up and found the place the Ohio guys said to go to, the Char Bar.
The Char Bar was pretty cool. Jay’s not much the drinker but he found a beer to nurse. I went for the New Castle and a Stella Artois, and Mike was after whiskey and coke. We had about two each and moved outside on the deck to check it out. It was still drizzling rain out. After a while, reason found us and convinced us it was best to wander home and make sure we got up early to skate…besides, we figured we could just as well drink beer in our room. So with that, we headed back.
It must have been the “long” walk or the alcohol, but we were all still hungry once we got in our room. It was after 2 am in Columbus, so there was not much open at that hour. The hotel suggested that we order pizza from "King’s". Mike called up, ordered and fetched the pizza from the lobby. We all dug in and killed off at least two pieces each. Shortly after I ate, I remember falling asleep as Jay and Mike were talking about skating or movies or something. That was not the last of King’s pizza though…
