Day 2: Saturday October 22nd

Boone Skatepark and Lunch

We all pulled up around the same time and were so excited to skate. The park looked very fun from a distance. Upon close inspection though, it was still covered with puddles here and there. We tried to skate the bowl, but it had deep puddles everywhere. In fact, Tim managed to find the only line that ran him through the deepest puddle going lengthwise! Haha We all tried to make the most of it though, and each explored the park on their own. In the end, we all threw in the towel. It was just a lost cause.
Lunch time! Nothing like getting up early, emptying the contents of your insides and driving 1 ½ hours to make you hungry! Haha Rob lead us to the Penn Station Sub Shop and promised us some good eating. He was not kidding! Huge sub sandwiches!!! It was funny as we walked in, the employees were all kind milling around. They saw our crew and were like "oh shit! We gotta work now!" Right after us, several other folks came in as well. Perfect timing. I had not heard that everyone was ordering the "regular" sandwich when I ordered the “large”. When they said "large" they meant it! It was no "Piranha’s" like last year, but it was more than I should have eaten….like two Subway subs in one! I figured "screw it…I’ll need the energy for later".
