� God has a great sense of humor. Last year, God rained out the scheduled weekend for the contest in Florence which had to be held the weekend after to a much smaller crowd. It looked like God might be at it again. The day started with black skies and storms rumbling in the distance. Thankfully, that did not keep people away....especially those wanting to get in some early practice time. I got to the park around 10:30am, and there was already quite few skaters in the bowl. As the skies began to lighten up and the storms seemed to pass, more and more people arrived, and the practice session quickly became a snake session. It looked like it was becoming the young guns versus the old guys in trying to get in runs and one up each other on tricks. I was just hoping these guys would have enough saved up for the actual contests!
I checked out the practice for quite a while, but also used this time to walk around, catch up with old friends I had not seen in a while, and help out with Pat Wachter and the gang as they got things set up and ready for the big show. Weather be damnned! The contest was a go!!!
